PSNOOK Guide
Measuring a Wheelchair Lap Belt for a Larger User
Include both chair attachments, the lap, usual clothing, and cushion when measuring for the 12–60 inch two-point belt.
On this page
Measure across the lap and around both chair attachments with the usual cushion and clothing. A waist measurement alone leaves out the length used by the chair.
PSNOOK’s two-point belt is 2 inches wide and has a 12–60 inch installed range.
Measure the Lap and Chair Together
Measure the full path across the lap and around both approved chair attachments. It must fit within the 12–60 inch installed range, with the front buckle reachable.
Why Two 35-Inch Straps Do Not Give a 70-Inch Fit
This two-point design uses one strap on each side of the chair. Each strap is 35 inches long, while the installed adjustment range is 12–60 inches. Component length includes material that may be used around the chair and through the adjustment hardware.
Include Clothing and the Cushion
Measure with the intended cushion and usual clothing in place. Include their effect on the route and buckle position, and allow room for the full 2-inch webbing to lie flat.
Fit the belt using the chair and product instructions, with the seating position and support arrangement specified in the individual care plan.
Check Before Ordering
Choose the belt by its installed range and attachment layout. Follow the installation guide to route the straps, adjust the hardware, and keep the release accessible.
- Is the required installed range actually for this model?
- Are suitable chair-side routes available on both sides?
- Can the buckle and both side-release tabs remain reachable?
- Can the webbing stay flat and clear of wheels, brakes, and folding parts?
- Does the chair manufacturer permit this accessory?
Care Note
Use the belt with the chair setup, release access, and supervision specified for the wearer.
