Who It May Help
Larger wheelchair users: The left and right straps adjust separately. Measure across the lap and around both chair attachments, then check that the full path fits within the 12–60 inch installed range.
Older adults who need seated support: For an older person whose seating plan includes a lap belt, the front buckle provides one place to fasten and release it.
Temporary or long-term wheelchair use: A lap belt may be part of seating support during recovery or longer-term wheelchair use. Fit it with the person’s usual cushion and clothing.
Transport chairs and mobility scooters: The chair needs a permitted attachment point on each side. Keep the webbing away from wheels, folding parts, and controls.
Help with fastening and adjustment: A helper can adjust each side and close the front buckle. Check the fit again after changing the cushion, clothing, or chair settings.
Before You Choose
- Identify a suitable attachment route on each side of the chair.
- Measure the installed belt path against the 12–60 inch adjustment range.
- Choose a front buckle position that the wearer or caregiver can reach.
For seated positioning support, not vehicle restraint. Both attachment routes must suit the chair. Keep release access clear and follow the care plan.
