One splint can be set up for the left or right hand. Check the plate size, strap positions, and prescribed hand position.

On this page

This resting hand splint can be set up for either hand. To switch sides, remove the straps from the plate and thread them back in the opposite direction.

One splint is included. Check the plate size and strap positions against the hand it will support.

Start With the Prescribed Hand Position

Adults recovering from stroke or brain injury may need support for the hand at rest. The same need can arise with Parkinson’s, cerebral palsy, or peripheral nerve problems.

Ask the clinician which hand and finger position is needed. The plate and separate straps must fit that position without forcing the hand.

One Splint per Package

Each package contains one splint. For support on both hands, plan the required quantity and arrange each splint for its intended hand.

Switching Between Hands

Remove the straps from the plate slots and thread them back in the opposite direction. Arrange each finger, palm, and wrist closure for the hand being supported.

Keep the closures reachable and follow the prescribed hand position.

Plate Size and Strap Positions

The polymer plate measures approximately 9.45 inches high, 7 inches across the palm area, and 2.8 inches across the wrist area.

Compare those plate dimensions, the hand-shaped outline, and the strap locations with the intended hand. The fastenings adjust separately at the fingers, palm, and wrist.

Fitting Help

Ask the clinician to specify the hand position, wearing schedule, and skin checks. A helper may be needed to place the hand and fasten the separate straps. Follow the cleaning instructions before using the splint again.

Care Note

The user's care professional should determine suitable support, fitting, wear schedule, and required checks.
