PSNOOK Resting Hand Splint Installation & Use Guide
How to fit and adjust the PSNOOK Resting Hand Splint. Follow the complete product instructions for the version you use.
Before Setup
- Arrange the straps for the intended hand.
- Inspect the plate, strap slots, and fastening surfaces.
- Use the hand position and wearing schedule in the individual care instructions.
Installation Steps
-
Prepare the correct hand orientation
Check that the straps are arranged for the intended hand. If switching sides, remove the straps from the plate slots and thread them back through in the opposite direction. Arrange the finger, palm, and wrist closures for that hand before fitting.
-
Open the straps and align the hand
Peel open the hook-and-loop straps. Rest the palm against the broad part of the plate, with the wrist over the narrow lower section and the thumb beside the projecting thumb support. Follow the hand position specified for the wearer; do not force the fingers into position.
-
Arrange the finger supports
Position each finger at its own support strap and arrange the thumb at the separate thumb section. Adjust the individual closures separately, keeping the straps flat rather than pulling them tight to straighten the fingers.
-
Fasten the palm and wrist separately
Bring the broad palm strap across the hand and press its hook-and-loop surfaces together. Fasten the wrist strap at the lower part of the plate. Adjust these two closures independently of the finger straps.
-
Check the fit and removal access
Check that the plate is aligned, each strap lies flat, and the closures can be reached and peeled open. Have the fit and wearing schedule reviewed under the wearer's care instructions. Open the straps to remove the hand without forcing it against the plate.
After Setup Checks
- Keep the palm and wrist aligned with the plate.
- Lay each strap flat and keep the closures accessible.
- Adjust each fastening separately for the required support position.
During Use Checks
- Check comfort, skin contact, and fastening during the instructed routine.
- Recheck strap direction and fit after cleaning or switching hands.
When to Adjust or Remove
- Open the straps and remove the splint if the fit causes discomfort or an unexpected change in the hand; seek care guidance before resuming.
- Replace a cracked plate or damaged strap attachment.
Daily Inspection
- Inspect the plate and slots for cracks or rough edges.
- Check that the hook-and-loop surfaces engage and the strap attachments remain intact.
- Recheck strap direction after rethreading.
Follow the prescribed fitting and wear instructions. Do not force finger position or tighten through discomfort.
